Flynn Gets Amongst it at The Ansley

Fynn loves being able to walk, and run, and climb.

Each morning he bursts into the garden,
scanning the pool for hot chicks

When he's sure he's alone, he belts out his tarzan call

Thankfully, at The Ansley (our apartment/condo complex) we have a garden, playground, swimming pool, kids pool, bubble pool, tennis court, gym and clubhouse - all of which Flynn visits each morning, to check that all's in order and have a little run around at the same time.

Flynn does a few laps of the pool

Then heads to the garden for some fun in the dirt

Despite the great facilities, one of his favourite activities at the moment is scruffing his hands around in the dirt/sand/stones - and occasionally sampling a little of what he finds.

Flynn pauses for a little weeding between the paving stones

He's not much of a one for posing before the camera

He has a quiet word with one of the kids
trying to play on his patch

He checks the shower taps are in order

And finds yet another drain that needs investigating

He'll not head back upstairs until he's done a few sets at the gym

The shots below were taken three weeks ago - at the beginning of Jan, when Flynn was still walking around with his hands in the air like an orangutan.

In this shot he's doing a dash on the 'putting green'. Notice he's had a haircut and lost weight since the beginning of Jan (New Year's resolutions).

He likes to slap the silver dome thing in the background

"Safety first" says Flynn - checking the swing bolts

He gives it the 'all clear'

Raaaarggghhhhh!

Sentosa Island

Sentosa Island is a resort/leisure type island that is very close to Singapore's shore (and thus linked to Singapore by a cable car, road bridge and light rail).

It's a cool place to hang out in the weekend cause it's not far away but it's like going to a beautiful tropical island - and there are loads of leisure activities and touristy type things to do. They have stuff like aquariums, dolphin shows (at the beach), virtual reality cinema, butterfly farm, log plumes, beautiful gardens, cafes, restaurants and more.

Generally, we just hang out by the beach and eat the food!

Flynn wasn't sure about the feeling of sand beneath his feet.
He liked the sensation of sand between his teeth though

Chilling out with Flynn

Enjoying a coffee at a cafe is no longer as relaxing as it once was.

Now why would that be...

The occasion is mostly spent trying to prevent Flynn from leaping onto the table, (or leaping out of his highchair if there is one) and grabbing the coffees/sugar/napkins/condiments, etc.

Flynn likes to sample the coasters in every cafe/bar we visit

It's not all bad though - he tells a blinder of a joke

And he's a helpful little soul.

Hey dad there's something gross stuck on your lip

Hold on, I think I've nearly got it

Walking on Sunshine

Flynn took his first steps on December 17, started stringing together more steps on December 25 and is now walking properly, all over the place, and is loving it.

Steppin' out on Christmas Day

Steppin' out post-Christmas

Look at me, look at me!
Having a ball

Merry Christmas!

Ah Christmas time... and what better way to get into the Christmas spirit than with a visit to Orchard Rd and it's massive Christmas trees and beautiful decorations - and its injection of Christmas sale mania, mad-thronging crowds, sweltering heat, crazy traffic, cash desk queues, taxi queues and Dolly Parton's honky-tonk christmas hits reverberating through your brain.

Mum manages to prise Flynn off the giant lolly tree
for a photo opportunity

Flynn and dad head off to look for a present for mum
(our apartment building in the background)

Nothing like some pre-Christmas drinks (and coasters)
to make the season bright

Time to dust off my santa's helper hat mum!

Who's up for a game of toss the pinecone?

Self-portrait

Flynn gets some lego and playdough (mmm, tasty) from Santa

Dancing-Christmas-Rat gets a good chewing from Flynn

Flynn looks slightly overwhelmed by the flashing, moving, singing,
ringing, banging and whirring of his new toys

Flynn would like to say thank you to those who sent him toys, books, clothes, cards and haka pens. He loves new things and will personally plant a nice big kiss on your faces when he next sees you.
