Big Boy Bed
Flynn's got a big boy bed!

Bintan Island
A couple of weeks ago we spent a long weekend on Bintan Island, Indonesia.
It's only a 45 min ferry ride from Singapore, so it doesn't really feel like you're in Indonesia, but it makes a nice easy weekend away.
We went with a group of about six couples from Aspen Heights, who all have kids too. So it was great fun for Flynn with lots of little buddies to play with. We stayed in a rustic cabin on the beach.

We went to an elephant park on Bintan, where they did a show and performed some elephant tricks. Flynn was pretty wary of getting near them at first, but he warmed up somewhat.

Busy Boy
Flynn likes to be busy.
He's always on the go, rarely sits still, and has the attention span of a gnat. He does, however, make an exception for books - which he loves to be read several times a day, many books in succession. We spend lots of time sitting here on the couch - reading and playing.
We take a reading break, for a little tickling
Flynn loves to play with water and scrubbing brushes on the balcony!
He's pleased to see some new mold needs to be dealt with
"Dirty mummy, dirty mummy"

Grandma's Back!
Grandma Julia came for a visit recently and Flynn was most delighted to have her here! In fact, whenever we were about to leave the house, he first checked that gramma was coming too.

The Aspen Heights Decathalon
As an excuse for a bit of fun, one of the guys at our condo organized a 'decathalon of sports', geared mainly toward the kiwi/oz male contingent of Aspen Heights, which consisted of a variety of events over one saturday in Oct.
The events included ball sports (mainly throwing, kicking or hitting a ball at a target), an uphill pram race (complete with bewildered child in pram), swimming, underwater swimming and more. The event culminated in an evening session, where pool, darts and a pint skull completed the decathalon.
It was a very amusing family event, and we are proud to report that Blake and Flynn won the uphill pram race and Blake came second and third in a couple of the other events. We only got photos of the evening unfortunately - where Blake and I came as 'female tennis doubles partners' - with Blake wearing my nighty.

Wedding at Sentosa
In October we went to Wayne (an Australian mate of Blake's from dragon boating) and Evie's wedding on Sentosa Island.

Though Sentosa is just a short drive off the main Singapore Island, we stayed there the night to make a weekend of it. The hotel next to the venue was very nice and Flynn was so excited he didn't know what to do with himself.
Flynn's a great sleeper, even when not at home, and didn't wake once for the babysitter!
