Wedding Date and NZ Tour News

Wedding News:Well we've finally set the date and booked the venue for our wedding - Sat, Feb 14th 2009! (Yes that's Valentine's Day folks, we're expecting a bit of ridicule for this, so go ahead)

It will be at the Boathouse in Nelson so you out-of-towners can start planning a nice weekend in Nelson now.

NZ Trip News:I have booked our flights and Flynn and I will arrive in Auckland on March 1st. We'll be in Auckland for a week, Nelson for 3-4 days and then home to the whanau in Wgtn for around 10 days. For those tardy readers who didn't view the last blog - Blake won't be coming due to work travel (no amount of nagging has proven persuasive), so it's just the two of us coming to meet youse guys.

Flynn News:Gotta throw in a few Flynn pics for good measure. He's doing well, it's getting heavy lugging him round now though - he's got thighs like luncheon sausages!

Flynn Foto Frenzy

Last week we very sadly said goodbye to Julia and embarked upon parenthood without our training wheels.

The little fella was a bit worried at first...

But we didn't drop him or anything, so he's starting to feel a little more confident now.

Julia has now flown to Dubai where she will be performing supergran duties again - this time to her second grandson, who actually arrived in the world today! (Congrats to Bec and Andy!)

Flynn is changing all the time and is now very active, alert and curious. He loves physical pursuits - which at 2 months old are limited to flailing his arms, craning his neck, cycling his legs and doing very impressive 'stand ups' - where he can take his weight on his legs when supported. He spends quite a bit of time practising these pursuits and is very pleased with himself when he pulls off a good session.

IN OTHER NEWS:
I will be bringing Flynn to New Zealand for a visit in March!

Blake will be away travelling overseas for most of that three weeks so it's a good chance for us to make use of that time (though it's a great shame he can't come too). We will be taking a tour through Auckland, Wellington and Nelson to introduce Flynn to friends and family - so don't be going away in March ok!

Our little lad is getting to be much more expressive now rather than the feeding, pooing, sleeping machine that he was for the first month. We've nicknamed him Scrappy as he's always trying to fight his way to somewhere other than where he's been put, always accompanied by determined grunting and flailing arms.

We're also starting to take him out a bit more as he's remarkably robust and is already practising his walking and can hold his head up (for a while). New Year in Singapore is much the same as in NZ; drinks, fireworks, barbeques, hangovers with the added twist of childcare.

Christmas 2007

This year we had a quiet but lovely Christmas at home with just the four of us.

(Yes blake looks like a hobo, he did spruce himself up later)

Flynn was anxious to exchange gifts so we opened presents in the morning as well as opening a bottle of champers to kick start the festivities. We then had the traditional Christmas dinner at lunchtime, lolled about for a while and then went down to the pool and had a wine with a kiwi/english couple who are our condo neighbours.

On Boxing Day we joined a bunch of other kiwis for a bbq at someone else's condo, a great afternoon of swimming, eating and drinking - and as you can see, I am enjoying being able to drink (a bit) again.
