More Snow

This morning we woke to a decent snowfall, the best since we arrived in Switzerland! There's more coming tonight too - perfect for fun outdoors.

The patio wall ends where the dark line is, the topping is all snow

Can you see our car between the trees?

Snow makes the slide super fast so it was hilarious watching Flynn fly like a rocket off the end

Shovelling the driveway still feels like a novelty

Then off to the hill behind us, just five min's walk and we're on a small ski slope. Flynn is a total daredevil and was gatecrashing the snow jump some ten-year-olds made - and jumping it better than them. Then he came down the hard-snow walking path (further up the hill) at a hair-raising pace, yeeharring the whole way so as not to kill any unsuspecting walker who might be around the corner.

"Whaddya mean it's time to go home?"

The light fades pretty early now but this was the walk home at around 5pm (much lighter than usual given the brightness of the snow)

Zum Park

Around the corner from us is a park called 'Zum Park', which means 'at/to the park' - not too imaginative if you ask me.

But anyway, we had a beautiful blue-sky day there between the early snow and the current snow, and I took the kids and our new camera down there for a play around.

Flynn's 5th Birthday!

Flynn hit the big FIVE this year!!!

His birthday fell on a Tuesday, so we had a family celebration on that day, with presents and chocolate cupcakes to take to Kindy.

In the afternoon, Blake came home early and we all went to an indoor playcentre/adventure place called Topolino. After that it was McDonalds for dinner (by Flynn's request).

Flynn gets a new big-boy bike!

And lots of other great presents and cards!

He had been begging me for shoes that flash

Topolino here we come!

"Well hello, haven't seen you here before..."

Mum and dad want photos with the birthday boy

Then home for cake no. 1

What's the best part Flynn?

Where does it go Benge?

Then on the Saturday Flynn had his party, with 12 guests and a Spiderman theme

The calm before the storm

The storm

The games were great fun and the kids, enthusiastic participants. All the kids but one spoke German, so we did it all in German. Big change from last year!

Flynn's best friend, Lilly

Pass the parcel

Most of all they loved the 'going-nuts' games - like 'keep the balloon off the ground' and 'statues' (to loud Katy Perry music)

I got mobbed at the end as they all sought prizes for enthusiasm

Then the cake - and he huffed, and he puffed....

And he blew them all out.

It was a great week with our great Flynn and we were so proud to hear him running around talking the whole time in Swiss German with his buddies!
