Around Town with Nina

We took a walk along the Rhine and shortly after Nina posed for this shot, she moved a couple of metres up to get out of the shade - and was stung by stinging nettle! Nasty stuff is that! I heard that urinating on the sting can help, but soon after Flynn had done the honours, i remembered that that's for jellyfish stings - opps.

Flynn's still feeling disappointed that his stinging nettle cure did not work

We always stop along here to look at the fire boat. This time there was a fireman working on it and he invited us onboard to take a look around. (He was looking at Nina when he extended the invitation but she was preoccupied with the stinging-nettle rash and she didn't notice his attentions)

The boys were pretty stoked with the opportunity though!

Then off for some more walking and scootering in town

Back in Muttenz, we took plenty of walks around our pretty town. Just down the road we have a farm with a market which sells fresh veggies, fruit, fresh-squeezed apple juice, eggs and flours made with all types of grain. Outside they have masses of pumpkins at the moment, and there's a pumpkin festival this weekend in a nearby town - oh the rustic charm!

Can you believe they also have a small farm with milking cows, which we visit all the time

This is outside Flynn's pre-school, in the playground there

We usually play in the school playground for a half-hour, after I pick Flynn up. Benjy loves it too!

Like his brother, Benjy is an avid gardener. He loves to sweep, water and dig. His favourite is sweeping or digging gravel out of the garden and onto the path.

Auntie Nina Arrives!

Auntie Nina has arrived in Switzerland! We've been excitedly awaiting her trip and looking forward to showing her around our new town. We started with some walking around the centre of Basel...

Then a girls' night on the town

Off to Lake Lucerne and a trip to the transport museum (it was a rainy day, ok)

Flynn takes on the big fellas

Never too old to make a dick of yourself!

It runs in the family ;)

Auntie Nina takes some great family shots for us!

Then the weather cleared up for some sightseeing in the beautiful town, and some dinner

Off home to bed - two sleeping boys on arrival

Off to Colmar

Being such a beautiful place, it would have been a shame not to take Nina to Colmar in France. Just 45 mins drive away, but like entering another world. We love it!

Who's that cute little guy?

Right, enough sight-seeing, let's find a restaurant!

Flynn won't argue with that!

Ooo la la!

Benjy makes friends with 'Aldo' the dog

And soon has him sitting, staying and jumping for a treat
