We arrived in Auckland late at night on the 31st Jan, after a pretty good flight thanks to a well-behaved Flynn and a new strategy of two-hour Flynn-shifts. We stayed in an airport hotel for the night and headed off to Nelson the following day.

In Nelson, we are staying in a hired home that overlooks Tahuna beach. The view is amazing and the beach provides hours of joy for the little fella. He does not spend much time on beaches in Singapore as there is only one nice one and it's not really ideal for kids.
Flynn goes nuts on the beach, has a good run, a good play with the sand, and every trip involves him sampling the sand, shells and even gnawing on the odd stick.
Sandpit heaven
Flynn takes Grandad Peter and Dad out for some wave action
He (literally) tries to catch a wave
He takes on a little more water than planned
Hmmm, much safer in this baby-sized sea puddle
We check out a local cafe on the quay
Grandma tries to steal Flynn's microphone
but he's on to her in a flash
