Pasir Ris Park

Last weekend we met with some friends at Pasir Ris Park - a half hour drive out to the west coast of Singapore.

It's an amazing park with dozens of playground areas beside the beach. The kids loved it! Other than having to take shelter for about half an hour from a short-lived storm it was a great day out.

Oh look mum, my shoes fell off and I landed in a puddle again!

Flynn models one of his new birthday t-shirts

Yes the boy needs a haircut!! But his haircut phobia is making this an impossibility. The last three haircuts ended halfway through, in hysterical fighting, thrashing, kicking and screaming. With the last one even involving a facial cut from the scissors! We are contemplating having another go, but I don't fancy our chances.

We even had him watch two of his little mates have their hair (calmly) cut. After that he was keen for his hair to be cut, but as soon as she pulled out the COMB, the hysterics started!

Flynn's Second Birthday

It was Flynn's second birthday on the 20th November!

He had a big double-party planned (with his buddy Ethan) but a few of his buddies (including Ethan) came down with 'hand, foot and mouth' - a common childhood sickness here. It causes fever, and spots on the hands, feet and mouth, as well as feeling pretty crap. So we postponed the party.

The party venue was unfortunately booked out until Jan 31st so the boys are getting a very late party. Fortunately they are none the wiser!

On the day, we all celebrated by going out for breakfast (Blake went into work late) then also out for dinner. And Flynn had his first meal off the menu (normally we take his food with us). He didn't want it though, preferring the look of mine.

He got lots of great prezzies! These included two cool t-shirts, a dump truck with pool/sandpit toys, books, a baby boy doll, a scooter, lego and a transformer car! What a haul!

I also made him a chocolate mud cake which he loved

He wasn't so keen on the candles being so close to his face though!

Okay! Enough already!

It's a Boy!

We've been slack in announcing the news, so everyone probably already knows that we are expecting baby number two!

Baby Two is due in late May and it's a boy - which we found out at week 13!

I have been anaemic which has meant feeling very tired! But after just increasing my red meat consumption didn't work, a month taking iron pills is finally working, and I am just starting to feel some energy again. - yay!

We are very excited that it's been a breeding bonanza on the blake-family side of things, and there will be THREE baby cousins born within three months!
