The Ellis Crew Comes to Basel

After we got back from England in July, we spent a very fun ten days with the Ellis Crew.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The kids were so happy to see their cousins again and they all got on brilliantly. We had great weather and were out and about most of the time. We checked out a few of the local Muttenz sights -such as the Wartenburg castle on the hill above Muttenz.

 

I'll admit to having taken a disproportionate amount of photos of His Royal Cuteness...

We took a day trip to an Alsace village in France where they do the best macaroons!

 

None of us could help picking up HRC all the time

We visited a well-preserved and very impressive castle called Haut-Konigsbourg, also in the Alsace

The castle is mostly fully intact, it is furnished with actual period furniture and includes a room with armour-clad knights and a weaponry full of alarming-looking swords, spears and more.

We had a day at Europa Park, a massive theme park an hour away in Germany.

It was very hot, but thankfully they have a water park there too!

Back home for a chill-out and a rub of Flynn's tummy! Flynn's honoured because until now, only a parent or sibling's tummy will do as his cuddly when he sucks his fingers.

 

Another day and we were off in the forest.

Flynn finds a strange little shelter, like a colourful bus stop by the river.

Benjy finds a way to avoid all unnecessary exertions.

By the end of the day, Flynn has refused all further photo-shoots and hides behind the pram.

 

 

 

We had a great time with the Ellis's and were so sad to see them go. We look forward to a day when the cousins can hang out all the time!
