A water tap in a sand pit - marriage made in heaven!
We took a weekend trip to Rheinfalls, the biggest waterfall in Switzerland and an hour's drive from Basel. Set beneath a hill upon which sat an ancient castle, it was very picturesque.
Thoughtfully provided, was also a small play area at the top of the hill.

Aw, who would have thought these two were trying to rip each others' head off five minutes ago.
And of course no tourism site in Switzerland is complete without several eating options - Nutella crepe anyone?
Around the corner is a bridge that crosses a calmer area of the Rhein. This bridge is one of the many now in Europe that has become part of the craze to attach a lovers' padlock, engraved with the initials or names of the lovebirds. They are left by people from all over the world and Flynn and Benjy found this quite fascinating.
After the falls, we went over the border into the Schwarzwald area of Germany. We stayed in a tiny town called Grafenhausen. It was a place in the middle of nowhere but they had some really cool things to do with kids.
This restaurant had the best ever playground.
Plus trout ponds, where they breed the fish you eat in the restaurant!
