End of Summer / Autumn 2016

Flynn did an inter-schools competition for kids in his grade, from schools throughout Basel. It was a huge day with events all through from 8.30am until 5.30pm. His class took some of the event titles but not the overall win, which he was very annoyed by!

 

 

 

Benjy had a friend (Giles) from kindy over and they played dress-ups. He's not been back unfortunately, since Benjy has now decided that he's boring.

 

 

 

 

Flynn has been saving up for a long time (literally years) and finally found something he really wanted to buy.

Blake was away in NZ for the whole month of October which meant there was not much going on for the kids in the Oct school hols. Therefore they did a sports camp for the first week - which is a daily thing rather than staying overnight there. They learned some cool things, including Karate, hip-hop dancing, gymnastics, meditation and more. They did a show for the parents on the last day which was awesome to see!

 

 

Ohmmmmmmmmmmmmmm......

In the second week of the holidays we did the rounds of all the usual kid places, including Oki Doki indoor playground - A place Blake now refuses to set foot it as it's pretty manic and it does smell a bit like wee...

 

 

 

 

And of course no Autumn is complete without the Pumpkin Festival, loved by young and old. (They have wine and a playground).

 

 

Guess the weight of the pumpkins and you get to keep 'em.

 

 

 

 

Then the weather took a turn for the colder, unfortunately being very wet and freezing for the Muttenz Annual Run, 'Muttenzer Lauf'.

 

 

The weather didn't dampen Benjy's spirits though, he had a ball.

Flynn came in 14th out of lots and was happy as long as he beat his best mate (which he did). Ramon is the long-haired, blonde guy to Flynn's right.
