One of the highlights of my year - my trip (sans kids) to Singapore at the end of September.
The reason was a reunion of us Singapore girls, coming together for our friend Beverley's 40th birthday party. Charlotte and I travelled together from Frankfurt (nearly 3 hours on the train from Basel). What a treat to fly without kids! A glass of wine, a few movies - even being uncomfortable was more comfortable sans kids.
When we arrived late on the Thurs night and I was loving being back at Aspen Heights, staying with the lovely Ness and her family. Our old helper Marlit was there as she is now Ness's helper, so it was like coming home in many ways!

The next day we met up with Beverley for a little surprise lunch - the surprise being that she didn't know I was coming to Singapore too! It was great to see her face and even better to have our group back together again - just like old times, but without the marauding kids.
I took a trip to Chinatown to see the old sights again. In true Singapore style it was too hot and crowded to stay long. For the rest of the time there were lunches and dinners, some shopping and even a group pedicure.
Beverleys 40th was on my last night and what a night it was! It was a costume party and everyone made a huge effort to dress up imaginatively. It was a great night and a great way to end the trip.
The birthday girl (bad cop) in all her finery - and who would believe this girl was three month's pregnant with her third child! Go Beverley!
What a great party and a great trip, so good to catch up with the lovely Singapore girls! When's the next one?
