Baden Baden, Germany

For Easter, we took a trip to a beautiful little town in Germany -  Baden Baden. The name means 'to bath, to bath' as it's a town built around natural thermal baths (hot pools).

The boys quickly settled in to the hotel, checking to see if there were any cartoons on German TV. And Flynn nearly popped a gasket when he found lollies on the pillows!

Then off to explore the town. The town is absolutely beautiful, with many grand buildings that have been preserved for hundreds of years. It is a centre for culture and art and a popular tourist town.

They also have great restaurants, much cheaper than Switzerland! The boys loved this place, with its kid's menu and highchairs. Benjy particularly enjoyed sorting the beer mats.

"Hmmm, do I go the schnitzel or the pasta?"

We went to the thermal baths and were surprised to find that kids under seven are not allowed in. But they do have a very nice creche/playcentre for the kids, so it was a win-win for all. We really enjoyed an hour of basking in the water, sans kids.

Baden Baden is a great place and we really enjoyed our short break away - only two hours from Basel.
