Colmar, France

We took a day trip to a beautiful place in France called Colmar - a 45 min drive from Basel. It's just amazingly beautiful and rustic and FRENCH (funny that!).

Flynn struggles to meet the demand for endless photo smiles

The whole town is beautiful, all of it - it's just like you walked back in time

Things here are OLD! This church (St Martin's) was built in the 12th century!

To make the day kid-friendly, we took a look at the toy museum, where Flynn was pretty excited by the ride-on cars, and absolutely mesmerized by the floor that was all model trains (set up as a village) - which really was pretty cool! He didn't like the fact that nothing was for sale though.

"OK mum, I'll have that one at the back"

Unfortunately the only thing the kids were allowed to play with was this horse and some puzzle games. Still Flynn seemed happy enough to be allowed to finally touch something.

And, of course, no trip is complete without a playground visit.

Who says sight-seeing is relaxing?

Ah, finally some peace!
