It turned out to be far too small and quiet for our tastes. On a saturday afternoon there was NOTHING open but a small superette. It was beautiful there but we just can't be doing with that kind of quiet.
Hegenheim sure was a lovely place. Very rustic and beautiful.
The photos below are of Leyman, which looked pretty much the same and is the town next door to Hegenheim.
After a bit of treking around we needed a nice lunch, and a nice one we found in Fluh, back on the Switzerland side of the border. Eating out is very expensive here, with a normal (not flash) restaurant charging about 30 swiss francs for an average main. The portions are generous though, and the food good. Wine and beer, on the other hand, are very affordable (after Singapore prices) and we are enjoying trying the local wines and beers.
Here's to highchairs (babysitzs), which are not found extensively :(
