Summer started out early in May with a fantastic warm and sunny spring. We spent a lot of time outdoors enjoying the great weather, which was wise, since it didn't really last.
Nothing like a picnic among the cherry trees
We love the forest too, especially when it's really hot, because the forest stays cool
We went to Lange Erlen, an animal park where the kids favourite attraction is...
...the icecream shop
Every summer in Basel brings one or two periods of intense heat - usually lasting 1-2 weeks and then returning to more reasonable temperatures (25-28 degrees in my opinion). The only thing for it in a super-hot week is the swimming pool
You've seen similar photos before, but the kids never get sick of the 'diving board' game (and i never cease to be amazed at how much air Flynn can get!)
This is the typical outdoor temperature (in the shade) during a hot patch. On the worst days we were getting to 41 degrees (no eye-rolling please Dubai-ians) which is WAY too hot without aircon (which is actually illegal in domestic households here!)
